So we’re almost a month and a half into the season, and I realize the entire time, I’ve still been listening to my soundtrack from the 2009 playoffs when making my journeys to the Stadium.
I realize there’s nothing inherently wrong with this–I mean, as Yankee fans, we love the past–but my iTunes could definitely use some updating.
So, here I invite you to list your selections for this playlist, according to the following criteria:
1) “New York, New York”, “Enter Sandman” and “Empire State of Mind” are already on this list.
2) Songs should make you think about the Yankees–in a good way–ie, get you amped up for the game. They can be particular to a player or general, to the team as a whole.
3) I love you Black Eyed Peas, but if I hear “I Gotta Feeling” another time I might freak.
Happy suggesting!

Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force – Looking For the Perfect Beat — Curtis Granderson’s at-bat song
Cameo – Candy — Jeter’s at-bat song now
Of course, some Party in the USA for Nick and I know Metallica’s “Cyanide” was Hughes’ mound song last year, not sure what it is now.
I’ll let others post other obvious ones. =P

“Born to Run”-Bruce Springsteen. That song gets me amped up about anything, baseball included.

Gotta go with “Over” by Drake — that song has A-Rod written all over it
Other than that, I’m assuming you’re using everyone’s entrance song

Hey Becca, Centerfield by John Fogerty always gets me in the mood for Baseball.
“..put me in coach! I’m ready to play! Today!”

The Yankees’ warm-up songs, definitely. The beginning of last year they warmed up to “Heart of a Champion” by Nelly, and then later in the year, through the postseason, the song was “My Time” by Fabolous (and they’re still using it this season). Gives me goosebumps, reminding me of going to an ALCS game and hearing this song as everyone was getting pumped up!
Also, Z100′s “Yankees Run This Town.”
