From LoHud, the Yankees have added the following players to their forty-man roster ahead of the Rule V draft:
RHP Hector Noesi
RHP Ivan Nova
RHP Romulo Sanchez
INF Reegie Corona
INF Eduardo Nunez
INF Kevin Russo
OF Austin Jackson.
For what it’s worth, Nova’s perhaps the one that wil earn himself an MLB call up the soonest and Jackson is probably the highest valued prospect on the list.
Before you do as I did and freak out that Jesús Montero is not on the 40 man–don’t worry. He’s not Rule V eligible. Breathe easy.

Kevin Russo might have a shot at making the team before Nova. If the Yankees don’t sign another backup infielder, then I expect Russo will be given the chance to take that job from Ramiro Pena. All it would take is a hot spring.

This is true, though it’s hard for me to see Russo making the team over Peña–given that Peña can now (apparently) play the outfield and he’s also a switch-hitter.
I’d expect to see Russo as a call up, but then again, if they let Hairston go, you never know

I love that no one saw the Hector Noesi move coming. And I’m sad that Shelley Duncan is probably gone for good.
