It wasn’t as early as May, but “walk-off” weekend did portend of things to come. This team demonstrated a comeback-ability that we haven’t seen since the Dynasty years. I felt very confident that the Yankees would make the playoffs before the All-Star break. The 4 game sweep of the Sox was big, but when the Yankees proved they could beat the Angels in Anaheim was when I really knew.

That’s easy. When A-Rod hit that HR on the first pitch, I knew. One of the more dramatic regular season HR’s I’ve ever seen…maybe even the most dramatic regular season HR I’ve ever seen. It was destiny. Stuff like that just doesn’t happen in years that aren’t special.

I would say in the back of my mind I knew this team was going places when they beat Verlander and Jackson in consecutive 2-1 games right after the Break, but it was really hammered home two weeks later when they beat Roy Halladay in Toronto just before beating up on the Sox. That 15 inning game was one of the better regular season games I’ve ever seen
