Note: Mauer received all but one first-place vote; the lone deviant vote went to Miguel Cabrera. I’d like the who and the why on that.

I do suppose an argument can be made that Cabrera and his drinking binges were as crucial to getting the Twins into the playoffs as anything Mauer did.
